If you’re 65 or older, or are under 65 with a qualifying disability or condition, you are eligible for comprehensive medical insurance through Medicare.
- Medicare Part A covers hospital insurance, Part B medical insurance (for doctor visits, lab work, etc.), and Part D prescription drug coverage.
- Or, wrap up Part A, Part B and even in some cases Part D dug coverage in a single Medicare Advantage plan (referred to as Medicare Part C).
- In most cases, your enrollment period for Medicare is three months before and after the month you turn 65.
Bottom line: If you’re approaching 65, or are younger and qualify, looking into your various Medicare options may be your best health coverage option.
